The Golf Club Journey: From Vision to Reality

What started as an idea in late August has rapidly taken shape, and now, just a few months later, it’s all coming together! Watching the splashbacks go up and the sinks being installed yesterday felt like a real “pinch me” moment.

Next week, the dishwasher and electrics will be finished, and on Tuesday, the health inspector will come through to ensure we’re ready to go. With everything on track, I’m thrilled to announce that we’re aiming to open next Friday for lunch, continuing through the weekend—though Saturday night is already booked out.

The Menu

Our menu is almost finalized, and I’m excited to offer two options: order directly from the menu or opt for a chef’s selection where we’ll surprise you with dishes delivered straight to your table. Expect a showcase of bush flavors with a twist, including saltbush lamb sliders and flourless chocolate cake with quandong mousse.

The bar will feature local wines, beers, and a selection of non-alcoholic bush-inspired drinks—perfect for any occasion. Bookings are recommended, but if you fancy dropping in for a light afternoon snack and some quiet time, you’re more than welcome.

Sustainability Goals

As we settle into this new space, I’m already looking at ways to make the venue more sustainable. With the property on tank water, we’re exploring options like solar power and compost bins. I’d love to add chooks for food waste, but with the local foxes, that might be a little ambitious for now.

The Ambience

The beauty of Wotjobaluk Country is breathtaking. Just yesterday, I was lucky enough to watch and listen to a flock of yellow-tailed black cockatoos flying overhead. The property is also home to White-winged Choughs, Rainbow Lorikeets, Reed Warblers, and both Little and Red Wattlebirds. The wildlife here adds so much to the charm and serenity of this special place.
